NJFPC Calls For Ethics Commission To Investigate Civil Union Review Commission!”

(NEWARK) “Today the New Jersey Family Policy Council (NJFPC) has completed filing two actions against the Civil Union Review Commission seeking compliance with the Open Public Records Act and to hold them accountable for what we believe are serious breaches of public trust, and violations of the state Conflict of Interest Law,” stated Len Deo, Founder & President of NJFPC.

“The CURC was charged with studying the implementation of the Civil Union Act and to report its findings to the legislature. From the outset the commission has operated like an advocacy group supporting same sex marriage, rather than a legislative commission conducting an objective study. The CURC purposely obfuscated the truth about its biased review process and biased conclusions to create the appearance of objectivity,” Deo continued. “In truth this commission acted in the self interest of its public members who are all either gay rights activists, members of gay rights groups or recipients of awards from gay rights groups. These public members were all appointed by Governor Corzine, Senate President Codey and Assembly Speaker Roberts. The collusion and corruption in our state government has now been set into motion to radically redefine marriage without the people having any say on the matter,” Deo added. The full complaint will be available at www.njfpc.org after October 20, 2009.

“The actions of the CURC’s leadership and its public members impaired their objectivity, attempted to secure personal advantages through exercise of official position and perhaps worst of all, created public suspicion violating the public trust and we just could not let that go unchallenged,” Deo concluded.
