COALITION ONLY INVITES CITIZENS WHO DISAGREE WITH RADICAL ATTEMPTS TO REDEFINE MARRIAGE TO RALLY THIS SATURDAY
|
|
Mays Landing, NJ - A local marriage rally opposing efforts by radicalfringe groups such as polygamists and polyamorists, together withhomosexuals, to redefine marriage is taking place on June 2 in MaysLanding from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon next to the Atlantic County CourtHouse. Residents of Mays Landing and surrounding communities inNew Jersey who oppose these group’s efforts are invited toattend. Security will be present although no invitations will beextended to fringe groups to attend this particular rally.
As evidenced by some of the most progressive and intelligent scholarson America’s law campuses, attempts by homosexual activists to redefinemarriage are leading the crusade for other special interest groups whobelieve the definition of marriage should be subject to change withcurrent trends and sympathies, as well. Len Deo, president of theNew Jersey Family Policy Council, which is associated with JamesDobson’s Focus on the Family, stated that, “Growing movements bypolyamorists and polygamists to further redefine marriage and familyare finding momentum as they follow the efforts of homosexualactivists, but polls and research show that since the majority ofAmericans will only accept marriage between one man and one woman, these groups’ efforts will ultimately be deemed useless.”
Homosexual activists continue to work incrementally toward a completeeradication of traditional marriage law in New Jersey. Currently, civil unions are now the law in New Jersey, but same-sex "marriage"advocates have promised to move legislation in the next two years thatwill upgrade civil unions to full "marriage." If successful, suchchanges will by necessity lead to broader changes, as well, withinclusions of polyamory and polygamy not far behind.
The day’s events will include marriage presentations from legislatorsand churches in the area: Assemblyman Mike Doherty, whoco-sponsored the bill for the constitutional amendment, and PastorSteve Mears, plus the New Jersey Pastors Association, Knights ofColumbus and the New Jersey Family Policy Council.
Details of the activities of the last year and the coming year and anupdate on the results of the New Jersey Statewide Official ClergyPetition drive will also be presented. For more information visitwww.njfpc.org or call 1-800-FAMILY-1. |
