Pro Life Champions Proudly Serving in Our State Legislature

Protecting life from the moment of conception to natural death is a priority for many, including NJ state legislators. These legislators are committed to stand for the sanctity of innocent human life, despite constant ridicule from opposing legislators and relentless media attacks by candidates running for their district office.

Unfortunately, these brave elected officials hold the minority view in Trenton. Yet, they reflect the majority view in state capitals across America. New Jersey is one of only eight states without any statutory protections for preborn babies, where the life of a child may be terminated up to the point of birth. New Jersey’s radical position is seriously outnumbered in our own country and worldwide! Only six other nations, including North Korea and China, allow late-term abortions. The lawless radical abortion position of the New Jersey legislature is extreme, not mainstream, compared to 85% of states and 96% of nations. We must do better!

Photo-district-25-Hyland-Bucco-Deo--wIf you are like me, you are appalled and outraged by this blatant disregard for the life of the baby and their mothers, who are at increased risks for suffering severe complications from late-term abortions. But, the people of our movement are people of action, and we fight daily to protect life in the Garden State.

As you know, New Jersey Family Policy Council sits on the leadership team of the 20/20 Coalition. In our roles, Shawn Hyland and I have traveled around the state over the past few weeks discussing the challenges and opportunities for protecting life in our state, from conception to natural death. Despite New Jersey’s abortion-friendly laws, there are still numerous organizations working in the Garden State to protect life such as various Diocesan Respect Life Offices, the NJ Catholic Conference, LifeNet, NJ Right to Life, the League of American Families and many others.  We’ve met with community leaders, activists, church leaders, and more to also create an efficient strategy on how we can support public policy that protects the religious exemptions of churches, private faith-based schools, business owners and more.

In the coming months, we’ll continue to recognize major pro-life activists in our state who are willing to stand firm under intense social and political pressure and be a voice for the defenseless.

If you know New Jersey can do better protecting life here are two things you can do now!

  1. Join us in praying for the efforts of all those dedicated to life and especially the efforts of the 20/20 Coalition to be successful in ensuring life is protected in New Jersey. The first Friday of each month is dedicated to prayer and fasting to save preborn life in NJ. The immediate upcoming prayer date is Friday, Sept 6. Please let us know of your involvement by emailing

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16
  2. Donate to Family New Jersey Family Policy Council today! Your generosity can make the difference in changing the moral compass of our state! We are committed to building a New Jersey in which God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished. We can’t do this work without you.

Thank you for boldly standing to protect the least among us in NJ.
