2016 March for Life
Together we stand. We rally. We fight.
United we are unshaken. We press on defending Life!
In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses urges Israel to remember their rescue out of Egypt by God’s miraculous protection over their lives; having seen with their own eyes, the unparalleled, immeasurable power of God, who alone holds all authority commanding life.
“You shall therefore love the Lord your God and keep his charge, his statutes, his rules, and his commandments always.”
In a pluralistic society we often hear people say things like, “you’re not supposed to bring religion or your faith precepts into the public square.” Well I respectfully disagree! I am not going to force my beliefs upon you, and in turn I do not expect you to force your beliefs upon me… not in our country!
Further on in Deuteronomy 11:26-28, Moses continues, warning Israel;
“See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to go after other gods that you have not known.”
May God have mercy on us… because corporately, as a nation and as a state we have indeed turned away! Many of our people have embraced the concept that life is a commodity, a possession; and can just be thrown out when one feels burdened or inconvenienced by that life. Thankfully we have the Truth, and all those who hold faith in a transcendent God!
We have seen destruction of life in the womb reach staggering proportions; somewhere over 54 million lives snuffed out.
So today, on the 43rd anniversary of Roe v Wade we gathered in opposition of the horrific decision made in the US Supreme Court that day. We see the unintended consequences in a rash of Court decisions and public policy decisions that have coarsened the respect for life in our culture.
We have compassion for those suffering from post-abortive effects in their lives, and yet we know there is ONE who offers forgiveness and healing no matter how great the offense. The same One speaks to us today, as did He did thousands of years ago in the book of Deuteronomy.
Now we see the push for so called “death with dignity” a euphemism, for doctor prescribed suicide or once on that slippery slope euthanasia. But, we are here today to say NO!
We believe LIFE is precious and we stand to Respect Life. From cradle to grave, from womb to tomb may we continue to stand for life, and may we continue to advocate in the public policy arena, in the halls of Trenton and the halls of Washington DC to say this is not good!
We desire a nation and a state that Honors God! And to those who don’t believe in God, we respect your right to those beliefs, BUT, you cannot take away our rights to our beliefs. So we stand!! So we speak out!!!
I salute you for taking time from your busy lives to be at the Rally for Life in Trenton on Friday! May God bless you and keep you undaunted in the face of what may seem like tremendous odds! BUT for God, we shall overcome!! Thank you.
